Merry Christmas!

Here are pictures from our A.R Party, Christmas Party. It was a blast. Thank you parents for helping me out and providing stocking stuffers and gifts.

The kids had to match their addition problem to the answer on Santa's face.
 This is what happens when the weather is bad and we cannot go outside.

 The students had Vaseline on their nose. They had to pick it up and shake it off in the square.

Let it snow!

Our busy week.........

The students applied to be one of Santa's reindeer.

We finished our rock unit. At the end of the unit the students got to create a pet rock!

 We used our scale to see how much the rocked weighed.
 The students learned about the different ways your can categorize rocks: shape, size and color.
 We read lots of Laura Numeroff's books. If you give a..... Then we created our own version.
 




 In English we studied verbs. On Friday we played verb charades (hilarous) then the students had to create an Action Hero.

 We had some helpers in our room from Tech. They helped us create our math book!

This week we will not have any assessments. Friday is our Christmas party! There is not a reading story or spelling words this week!

What's Happening

Thanks so much for donating cans for the food can drive! My class did AWESOME!

 Last week we studied rocks. We went on a search around school to find materials made up of rocks.



In English we studied Possessive nouns. The students found and wrote possessive nouns about each other.


 Our money unit is over but we will continue to study it all year. The students played a coin concentration game after our money assessment. They had to match the amount to the coins.
Christmas Party information was sent home in their homework folder. If you missed it here it is. Our sight words this week. Our Story is: Seasons Science: We will be studying Recycling. I'm not a turkey....

And the winner is Austen- Darth Vader

The students did a awesome job on their turkey projects! 

 In science we studied water. The kids help me with a sink or float lab!

 On Thursday we got to eat lunch in our classroom!
 'Kool' spelling words. The students practiced writing their spelling words in Kool-Aid!
We had a speaker from Peoples Bank come in and talk to us about money!
 
We have been studying coins this week. The students worked on sorting their coins. Bax and Ethan played a penny toss game. You can guess the winner!

Next week we will enjoy Thanksgiving activities, no homework!
