Almost Summer

Adjectives- This week we worked on adjectives. The students had to describe their favorite food to a chef.

 The students were given food in a plastic baggie. They had to describe it to their partner until he or she guess it.
 The Best Nest- After reading the students had to write an opinion paper on which nest was best.

 Area- This is Austen's Dream house. The kids came up with their own floor plan and found the area of each room.
 Area- Cookie Area- Cami had to predict the area of her cookie measuring with M&M's.
 Alyzae's prediction was correct!

Fun Week!



 Comparing Adjectives- Adding -er and -est to words. After reading I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean students created their own squid, adding -er and est to his legs.
 Science-Life cycle of a frog.

 Earth Day- We did a lesson over pollution with Freddy the Fish. Freddy followed a stream and along the way different events kept occuring. We talked about ways that we could prevent pollution.
 Measurement- We had a growing Alligator in our classroom. The kids measured him each day to see how much he had grown.

 Spelling Word Basketball- There were two teams. The students used magnetic letters to construct their word, if they got it correct they could shoot a basket.
 We studied the different types of questions this week. The students were given a sentence on a card and they had to go stand in the correct corner.


Spelling Words Math- Area Reading- The Kite with Frog and Toad. Science- Finishing life cycles. ELAR- Story Sequencing, Adjectives, poetry.

Up, Up and Away!

Synonyms

 Contractions

 Math- We started measurement. A ruler is the King of measurement!
This book had actual sizes of different animal parts. The students compared themselves to the animal.


 Slap the sight word.
Coming up this week- Reading The Dot, Spelling list 25, Math- Continue Measurement, Science- Investigating animals.

Easter!

Our Scuba Easter Eggs- The kids did a great job!

 
Students predicted 'What would make a peep dissolve the fastest"


 Colored Noodles- The kids spelt their spelling words with noodles.

 Planning our Terrarium

 We created a worm motel. The kids got to see what the worms would do if we put them on top of the moss.

 Students predicted what would happen to the celery if it was in blue water.
 Cause and Effect with Camilla Cream
 The kids had to choose a character, setting and two numbers. With that information the kids created a story problem. They did wonderful!
